AGM Friends of Nunney Church

Come and hear the latest news on the Raise the Roof campaign at the Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Nunney Church this Saturday 11am in All Saints Church, Nunney.

Nunney Church

The ceiling tiles have now been removed.

This is a very exciting time to get involved with the Friends of Nunney Church. The colony of Lesser Horseshoe bats has recently been moved from the nave. The unsightly ceiling tiles have been taken down.

The coming months are crucial for the success of the Raise the Roof project. Although the total cost of the project is now estimated at around £260,000, an additional £100,000 still needs to be raised.

All Saints Church dates from the 12th century and quite possibly replaces an earlier church on the site. Nunney villagers have been baptised, married and buried here for over eight centuries, making the church as much part of our heritage as the castle – if not more so.

You don’t have to be a regularly churchgoer to join the Friends of Nunney Church; in fact, the Friends include a wide variety of people who care about preserving this part of our heritage.

Come along to the AGM in the church on Saturday 9 May at 11am for the latest news, plans and progress reports.
