Catharine And Gail Taylor have celebrated their marriage with friends in Nunney.

Catharine and Gail TaylorCatherine (formerly Goldsmith) served on Nunney Parish Council, Nunney Community Association and other organisations for almost two decades. She was awarded The Chairman’s Community Award, organised by Somerset County Council.

She married retired rodeo rider and organiser Gail Taylor in October last year. The couple now live together in Buckhorn, New Mexico, USA.

Before her departure, Catharine Goldsmith was given a unique book about Nunney by the Nunney Community Association, produced by Visit Nunney.

The state flag of New Mexico is flown at Nunney’s former post office to welcome Gail and Catharine.
The moving service of celebration in Nunney Church was attended by a large number of Nunney residents.

This was followed by cream teas, a hog roast and party in Nunney village hall.

Entertainment was provided by the Bob Reynalds Jazz Band.
