Christmas Markets 2015

the-george-at-nunneyWith Bath, Bristol, Frome, Wells, Exeter and Salisbury within easy driving range, Nunney’s central location makes it the perfect place to stay to do your Christmas shopping this year.

Add to that shopping malls at Cabot Circus and Cribbs Causeway in Bristol and Clarks Village Outlet Shopping in Street, and you couldn’t find a better place for a shopping break this Christmas.

The George at Nunney, located opposite the moated 14th century Nunney Castle, has roaring log fires, a cosy atmosphere and a delicious menu to tickle everyone’s taste buds.

The historic inn has comfortable rooms, including four-poster suites, while luxury B&B Stay at Penny’s Mill and the Market Place B&B offer alternatives to suit every budget.

The Festival of Light at Longleat House and Safari Park (12 minutes from Nunney by car) is unmissable and runs on selected dates from 5 November until 7 January 2016.

Nunney Makes Christmas

Nunney Makes Christmas is a community event to bring the magic of Christmas to Nunney and the surrounding area. The market will provide an opportunity for local makers to sell their wares and services and for people to stock up on Christmas gifts and festive cheer. Visit Nunney will have its own stand to launch The Nunney Collection of Nunney-themed gifts and produce. Expect a warm welcome (helped by the mulled cider) with a host of stalls, music, fun for kids and tasty treats for all!

Nunney First School Christmas Fayre

1 December 2.30pm – 4.30pm

Lots to interest everyone, including stalls selling produce and gifts, tombola, face painting and much more. A ‘Special Visitor’ is also expected to arrive during the event. All profits will be going towards projects at the school, such as the wooden castle play frame that was recently constructed.

Bath Christmas Market

23 November – 10 December
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10am – 7pm

Now in its 17th year, the Bath Christmas Market has over 200 chalets (that’s 30 more than last year!), packed with high quality Christmas gifts, homewares, tasty food and drink, jewellery and much more. Over 80% of the stallholders come from Bath and the South West, and an impressive 99% of all products are either handmade by the stallholders’ own hands, in Britain or abroad with Fairtrade certification.

Bath’s biggest, award-winning independent market, undercover in the heart of Bath. Free live bands at both events playing Christmas tunes from 12pm plus over 70 amazing and original stalls to stock up for Christmas from. This is Bath’s mecca for independent traders who create and sell high-quality work and produce; from delicious food, to art prints and cards, to flea market finds like clothes and homewares to unique handicrafts like ceramics, glass, textiles and more.

Salisbury Christmas MarketSalisbury Christmas Market transforms the heart of this beautiful medieval cathedral city into a winter wonderland with its authentic German Market-style wooden chalets and festive events. Proudly returning to the historic Guildhall Square for its 6th consecutive year the Salisbury Christmas Market 2017 will see the return of many award-winning exhibitors and products. Every year the goods available at the Christmas Market grows, with choices ranging from intricate jewellery to beautifully crafted handmade furniture, succulent mince pies to luxurious all-flavoured liqueurs.

Mells Festive Market – Christmas in the Country

This Free Entry Festive Market Event – the ever popular ‘Christmas in the Country’, is on for two days this year in the historic Tithe Barn in beautiful Mells Village . 20 carefully selected stalls of makers, artists and producers selling stunning gift and food ideas and with Mells Community Cafe supplying hot and cold food and refreshments all day, mulled wine and mince pies, it’s a perfect place to get your Festive shopping sorted. All profits from refreshments goes directly back to the fabulous Mells Community Cafe and Shop.

Frome Lip-smacking Chocolate Festival

Frome Chocolate Festival is celebrating it’s 8th anniversary and we’re planning some rather special events. As usual we will have a fabulous collection of Chocolatiers, Artisan cake makers, raw chocolate experts, confectioners and sweet makers. Expect chocolate bars and truffles galore, plus unusual chocolate gifts and seasonal delights.

Frome Christmas Lights Switch On

Frome’s yearly Christmas celebrations are always popular and a great treat to kick off the season. The event in the town centre features a lantern procession, carols, festive food stalls and of course the lights switch-on.
