Christmas Tree Festival

The Christmas Tree Festival in Nunney Church concludes on Sunday 8 December with Carols around the Trees at 4pm.

Nunney Christmas Tree Festival
The Visit Nunney entry is one of dozens of decorated trees in the Nunney Christmas Tree Festival.
Join us for half an hour of carols and readings with Nunney School, followed by refreshments.

Following on from the success of previous festivals the Flower Show and Church fundraising committees have once again staged this interesting and spectacular event.

This year the festival is open for three days only, with tea and coffee being available at a small cost.

Visitors are invited to vote for their favourite tree by purchasing tokens at 10p each and allocating them to various entries. The winner will receive a small price on Sunday afternoon.

Trees – which can be fresh, rooted, cut or artificial – are decorated by local residents and community groups.

For those who feel a tree is too large an undertaking at this busy time of year, the committees have introduced a Door Wreath or Hanging category. Entries will be displayed as pew ends.

Organiser Mary Lynch-Staunton puts the finishing touches to her Fruits of the Earth tree.
The church was open all day on Thursday 5 December for setting up. Dozens of trees were being decorated all around the church.

These ranged from the Nunney Community Assocation’s Duck the halls featuring hundreds of Easter Sunday racing ducks to a stunning Carnival in Venice themed tree.

The Christmas Tree Festival raises money for the Nunney Flower Show and for general ‘housekeeping’ in the five Postlebury churches.
