Easter Sunday wouldn’t be the same without the traditional bonnet parade and duck race, on Sunday 21 April 2018 from 11.30am.
Easter Sunday’s events are organised by the Nunney Community Association. The bonnet parade starts around 11.30am in the Market Place, followed by the duck race.
Everyone is welcome to join in with the event. Categories this year are 0-4 years, 5-7 years, 8-10 years, 11-15 years, adult men and adult women. Have you decorated your hat yet?
Of course, this year there is once again a very popular category for well-behaved pets too.
Shortly afterwards, at noon, hundreds of plastic yellow ducks will race down the Nunney Brook through the centre of the village, with prizes for the winners.
Visitors can sponsor ducks, with the money supporting community projects. Ducks are on sale at the SPAR village shop and on the day at £1 each.
Nunney Castle is free to explore and open all day. Free visitor parking is available in Old Quarry Gardens, Castle Hill (signposted).
