Café Society is a 2016 American romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Woody Allen. It stars Jeannie Berlin, Steve Carell, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Kristen Stewart, Corey Stoll and Ken Stott.
Woody Allen’s latest comedy drama is hailed as his most enjoyable film for some time.
Jesse Eisenberg plays a young New Yorker who heads for Hollywood to seek an exciting future. He falls for Vonnie (Kirsten Stewart), the secretary of his uncle Phil (Steve Carell) who is a successful producer.
He soon finds out that she has a mysterious lover. The result is much confusion. The film is st in the 1930s, with much fine period detail for you to enjoy.
Café Society has a 12A rating. Films classified 12A and video works classified 12 contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. No one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult.
Adults planning to take a child under 12 to view a 12A film should consider whether the film is suitable for that child.
Café Society is shown at Nunney Village Hall on Friday 13 May at 7.30pm. Door open at 7.00pm. Seats cannot be reserved, so please come early.
Tickets cost £5.00 in advance at the SPAR shop in Nunney or £6.00 on the door. A licensed bar and ice creams will be available.
