Somerset Moviola and the Nunney Village Hall Committee present Their Finest, on Friday 8 September at Nunney Village Hall.
Their Finest is a 2016 British war comedy-drama film directed by Lone Scherfig and written by Gaby Chiappe, based on the 2009 novel Their Finest Hour and a Half by Lissa Evans.
The film stars Gemma Arterton, Sam Claflin, Bill Nighy, Jack Huston, Jake Lacy, Richard E. Grant, Henry Goodman, Rachael Stirling, Eddie Marsan, Helen McCrory, and Claudia Jessie.
The film tells the story of a British Ministry of Information film team making a morale-boosting film about the Dunkirk evacuation during the Battle of Britain and the London Blitz.
Gemma Arterton plays Catrin, a diffident young Welsh woman who lands a job with a unit making short propaganda films for the Ministry of Information at the height of the Blitz.
Hired to write ‘the slop’, as dialogue between women is dismissively termed by her jaded writer colleague Buckley (Sam Claflin), she ends up working on a morale-boosting feature film about the exploits of a couple of seafaring sisters during the Dunkirk evacuation.
Bill Nighy as a vain and ageing ham and Jeremy Irons as the dictatorial but out-of-touch Secretary of War are on top comic form.
Their Finest has a 12A rating. Films rated 12A are suitable for children aged 12 and over. However, people younger than 12 may see a 12A so long as they are accompanied by an adult.
In such circumstances, responsibility for allowing a child under 12 to view lies with the accompanying adult.

Tickets cost £5.00 in advance at the SPAR shop in Nunney or £6.00 on the door. A licensed bar and ice creams will be available.
