The Nunney Players are holding an AGM on Thursday 23 October 7.00pm at Nunney village hall to decide on their future direction.
“We have to consider the painful possibility that the Players have gone as far as they can go,” the group said in an announcement. “Like our excellent Dracula, we need new blood… in the form of directors and committee members to re-energise our village theatre group.”
“Over the past decade we have produced many wonderful productions, giving us all such happy memories and such a sense of affection and community – it would be a shame to lose it.”
The Nunney Players were formed in November 2003. The group won a bumper crop of awards in 2009 from the Somerset Fellowship of Drama (SFD), including best pantomime on a small stage. More SFD awards followed in 2010, plus an Award for Excellence across the region from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association.
Productions have ranged from pantomime to Shakespeare, with every show involving many dozens of volunteers giving their all for months on end.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Thursday 23 October 7.00pm at Nunney village hall, with drinks and nibbles.
Please come along and help the Nunney Players decide its future direction.
