The award-winning Nunney Players will give a total of four performances of the panto Treasure Island on Thursday 30 January to Saturday 1 February.
The Nunney Players won a bumper crop of awards in 2009 from the Somerset Fellowship of Drama (SFD), including best pantomime on a small stage. More SFD awards followed in 2010, plus an Award for Excellence across the region from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association.
Every Nunney Players production is the culmination of many people’s hard work over several months, and that includes Treasure Island.
This hilarious pantomime might have been inspired by the famous classic tale, but the characters and the plot are transformed into our favourite ‘Panto’ heroes and villains.
Long John Silver and his very unable crew are no match for Dame Sally Forth and her family and friends as they sail away to find treasure and adventure! There are also plenty of pirates (all with Somerset accents!) – aarh!!
Performances will take place at Nunney village hall on Thursday 30 January, Friday 31 January and Saturday 1 February at 7.30pm, with a Saturday afternoon matinee at 2.30pm.
Fancy joining the Nunney Players? You can join as a member or a friend, whether you want to be on stage, backstage or in the audience. You don’t even have to live in Nunney; many members from outside the village have already joined The Nunney Players.
