Nunney-based artist Alice Maddicott is creating her own museum in the boot of her car and touring around Somerset: the Car Boot Museum.
The purpose of her art project is to explore her home county and seek out the hidden meanings of its everyday objects and landscape.
Alice will be joined on her trip by poet Ana Seferovic. Together they will create a collaborative poetic travelogue.
Visitors will be invited to contribute to the museum: write their own ideas and memories of the area and add them to the museum.
Alice’s project is part of a series of site-specific contemporary visual arts commissions to be presented across Somerset during Somerset Art Weeks Festival 2015 responding to the theme of Momentum.
The projects were commissioned by Somerset Arts Week and are funded by the Arts Council.
A final exhibition will take place at 44AD Gallery in Bath during Somerset Art Weeks Festival, from 3 until 18 October 2015.
