willow workshopsTime spent working with natural and sustainable materials in such peaceful natural settings is good for the soul and will be hard to beat!

The following willow workshops are currently scheduled. Please note that willow needs to be soaked before it can be used. If you would like to join a workshop within the next few days, please contact Mary to check availability.

Tepee plant support
23 March 10am-1pm
£49.50 per person, including materials
Come and make a beautiful plant tepee that can vary in size depending on your requirements and your car size! Hazel or much thicker willow can be used for the uprights to make a more sturdy structure, ideal for climbing beans etc and more substantial plants.

Whereas a lighter, more refined tepee can be made using all willow, different varieties giving it a lovely two tone effect. These look beautiful supporting sweet peas or something similar.

Bird feeders
23 March 10.30am-4.30pm
£49.50 per person, including materials
This is a new workshop this year so is a bit of an experiment! This photograph is of a nesting pod which could be attempted by someone who has some experience. A simpler fat ball holder will be the main focus plus a spiral feeder if time.

General plant support
20 April 10am–1pm
£49.50 per person, including materials
At this workshop a variety of plant supports can be made. A fan or panel for climbing plants or a dome or circular support for your peonies or poppies! You may be able to get more than one done in a session depending on ability.

Please let me know on booking if you have any specific ideas so I can cater more effectively for your individual needs. Likewise, feel free to come along and see what comes up on the day!

willow workshopFlying bugs & flowers
20 April 1.30pm-4.30pm
£49.50 per person, including materials
This session is spent making more crafty items such as dragonflies, butterflies and/or flowers. The amount you make will depend on your ability but generally two of these item plus you can also make a willow spiral, which can be used as a bird feeder or look lovely hanging in trees with t-lights or as a mini hanging flower basket.

Oval shopping basket
15 June 10am-4.30pm
£83.00 per person, including materials
On this course you will make an oval shopper with a handle. Different varieties of willow will be used to give some contrast in colour and texture. The technique used is more challenging than a round basket therefore it is a requirement that you have made at least one basket before.

Round stake & strand basket
18 July 10am-4.30pm
£83.00 per person, including materials
I love working with brown willow (bark on) when making baskets so they have a rather rustic appearance and texture. Different varieties of willow can be used to give some contrast in colour. Depending on your ability you may be able to add a handle. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those returning to make even better baskets and to learn new techniques.
