Free training sessions are being held in Mendip next month to help local businesses discover the power of social media.
The four events will take place in Frome, Wells, Street and Nunney. They are being run by Get up to Speed as part of the Connecting Devon and Somerset project.
They will demonstrate the effectiveness of social media and the importance of having an online presence when running a successful business.
The events will focus on social media and the benefits of reaching out to wider audiences to drive sales, as well as a chance to talk about gadgets and the latest digital technologies.
Selling online, get ready for Christmas – Wells Town Hall, Tuesday 1 September, 10am to 1pm
This session will focus on the importance of e-commerce to the modern business, including choosing the right online payment method, increasing visibility and creating engaging website content.
Intelligent use of Social Media – Strode College, Street, Thursday 10 September, 10am to 12pm. This session covers topics such as how to boost sales, enhance customer service and create engaging content.
Stand out on social media – Cheese and Grain, Frome, Wednesday 16 September, 10am to 1pm
This interactive session is aimed at businesses or organisations that already have social media accounts and are looking to increase reach and engagement.
Get connected with gadgets – The George at Nunney, Thursday 1 October 2-4pm
A drop-in session to discuss anything from the finding the best broadband deal to getting a hands on introduction to iPads, Android tablets, laptops and smartphones.
