Log basket-making course

Nunney resident Mary Cross runs a 2-night log basket-making course on Nondays 6 and 13 November at the Wells Mill Hub in Frome.

basket-making workshop

This log basket can be made with a round or oval base. The size and style of the main part of the basket can be varied to your specifications.

The handles can be set within the weave at the top of the basket or externally.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those returning to make even better baskets and to learn new techniques.

You’ll work with brown willow (bark on), so your baskets will have a beautiful rustic appearance and texture.

Different varieties of willow can be used to give some contrast in colour. Depending on your ability, you may be able to add a handle.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those returning to make even better baskets and to learn new techniques.

The course is run with a small group, so that you’ll have one-to-one guidance when you need it. And you’ll take your basket home at the end of the course.

The course is held on Mondays 6 and 13 November from 6pm to 9.30pm at:
Remakery Frome
The Welsh Mill Hub
Park Hill Drive
Frome
Somerset BA11 2LE

Tickets for this 2-night course cost £70 per person including all materials and tools. Refreshments are provided.
