Rockfield House has been turned into a veritable treasure trove of colourful tribal art, ideal for early Christmas present or treating yourself. Rugs, lamps, jewellery, furniture, gifts, Christmas decorations and more are on sale.

The Pomeroys host a drinks reception both Fridays 6-8pm. A paella supper (£10 per head, booking essential) will be held on Wednesday 19 October.

Part of the profits will be split between Climate Stewards and CHASE Africa. Climate Stewards enables you to offset your unavoidable carbon emissions by supporting community carbon mitigation projects in Ghana, Kenya and Mexico.

Community Health And Sustainable Environment (CHASE) Africa’s vision is a poverty-free future where people live sustainably in a bio-diverse environment.

Its mission is to enable women and families to achieve sustainable livelihoods through choosing the number and spacing of their children, and developing sustainable environments.

With a bio-diverse environment and smaller families, parents can afford to feed and educate their children better, women have more time for other activities so can produce more food and/or earn income, maternal and child mortality rates fall, and pressure on the environment is reduced.

To address these complex and related issues of poverty, ill health, environmental degradation and population pressure, we are working through local partners in Kenya to:

  • deliver integrated healthcare and family planning services in rural and marginalised communities
  • support tree planting and environmental education at schools and IDP (Internally Displaced People’s) settlements
  • carry out forest restoration projects
  • promote the use of fuel-efficient stoves
  • support projects which integrate healthcare and family planning with environmental sustainability and food security

Directions to Rockfield House are clearly signposted from the A361 Nunney Catch roundabout and throughout the village.
