Nunney is the ideal base for exploring 2016 Christmas markets. Here is our roundup of the best Christmas events.

Christmas Markets 2015

the-george-at-nunneyWith Bath, Bristol, Frome, Wells, Exeter and Salisbury within easy driving range, Nunney’s central location makes it the perfect place to stay to do your Christmas shopping this year.

Add to that shopping malls at Cabot Circus and Cribbs Causeway in Bristol and Clarks Village Outlet Shopping in Street, and you couldn’t find a better place for a shopping break this Christmas.

The George at Nunney, located opposite the moated 14th century Nunney Castle, has roaring log fires, a cosy atmosphere and a delicious menu to tickle everyone’s taste buds.

The historic inn has comfortable rooms, including four-poster suites, while luxury B&B Stay at Penny’s Mill and the Market Place B&B offer alternatives to suit every budget.

The Festival of Light at Longleat House and Safari Park (12 minutes from Nunney by car) is unmissable and runs from 11 November until 2 January 2016.

Nunney Makes Christmas is a community event to bring the magic of Christmas to Nunney and the surrounding area. The market will provide an opportunity for local makers to sell their wares and services and for people to stock up on Christmas gifts and festive cheer. Expect a warm welcome (helped by the mulled cider) with a host of stalls, music, fun for kids and tasty treats for all!
