More was collected this year than in previous years.

3.2  Christmas Tree Festival – Thanks to Jane and Lara who decorated the NCA tree which looked great covered in ducks! Nobody is sure who won the competition.

3.3  Carols in the Castle – to take place on Sunday 22nd December 6-7.30pm. Ron Warwick and Bill Hewett have kindly agreed to provide a power source. Max asked for help setting up gazebos, tables, chairs and ropes around the castle on Sunday at 10 o’clock. Lynne offered to be ‘on the door’ with Lara to help from 5.30pm onwards. There will be a charge of £1 for song sheet and a torch.

Francis has agreed to compere. Norman is to make a sign. Emma and Sue I.  are making soup and punch, tables organised to accommodate this. First Aid and also fire extinguishes available. Chairs need to be provided for band and infirm.

There is to be an advert in the Standard to publicise the event.

3.4  N.C.A. Christmas dinner was deemed a success.

3.5  Presents for Nunney School lovingly wrapped by Lynne and Gill Collins are now ready for delivery by Santa Roger.

3.6 Next jazz evening with ‘Fromage au Feu’ taking place on Saturday 15th February will be discussed at the next meeting. No food planned.

3.7  Previous jazz evening – £40 is to be paid by Francis to NCA from the bar takings.

3.8  Childrens’ Play Area – Following research among Nunney children by Jeremy, a Zip wire, costing £7,812, is to be installed. The Parish Council have offered £2,000 towards the cost and the committee agreed to offer between £4,000 to make up the difference. It was understood that further monies could be made available for other play amenities. Jeremy felt that although this is an expensive item, money could be recouped by charging more for stalls at next year’s Fayre. Lynne thought it would be good for building bridges with the rest of the village who would be the most likely users of the play area. Andy expressed the need to leave at least £3,000 in the bank as a cushion and have what remains to spend. Roger to contact P.C. to make our offer.

4. Finance – AM presented a breakdown of current situation. Finances continue to be healthy.

Mary had written to thank the NCA for the donation of £200 towards the Raise the Roof’ fund.

This was because the jazz evening was a joint Church/NCA event.

5. 100 Club – This month’s winner is – Sharmen Barrett (69) who wins £75. Andy asked for  direct debiting to make collecting subscriptions easier.

6.  AOB – Lynne asked what arrangements need to be made to dispose of market place tree after Christmas.

The meeting closed at 8.50pm.

Next meeting –  Monday 20th January 7.30pm The George.
