Frome Freecycle

Nunney Freecycle

Frome Freecycle is open to all who want to “recycle” that special something rather than throw it away.

Frome FreecycleFrome Freecycle is a real revelation. Whether it’s a chair, a fax machine, piano or an old door, feel free to post it. Or maybe you’re looking to acquire something yourself!

Non-profit groups are also welcome to participate too. One main rule: everything posted must be free.

The Freecycle Network is made up of 5,317 groups with 9,186,087 members around the world, and next door to you.

It’s a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns and neighbourhoods.

It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by local volunteers.

How Frome Freecycle works

Freecycle is easy to use. You simply post a description of the item you want to get rid off on the Frome Freecycle group page.

Members automatically get an email for items currently on offer. They can decide whether to get emails for individual items or a daily summary (at the risk that items have already been snapped up).

You arrange to collect the item from the current owner and have a simple handover at the front door. That’s it! No cash, no long discussions – just show up and receive the item.

There are lots of great things on offer, typically including bread machines, exercise equipment, toys, clothing and furniture.

The Frome Freecycle group covers Nunney, was founded in 2008 and currently has almost 7,500 members. The group is part of The Freecycle Network, a nonprofit organisation and a movement of people interested in keeping good stuff out of landfills.

There are Freecycle groups all over the UK. Check out for other cities and info on the movement.
