Frome Golf Course near Nunney has closed its doors for good after it failed to find a buyer as a going concern.
Reports that it had been acquired by a local pig farmer proved incorrect. Subsequent rumours of a consortium trying to rescue the golf course clearly also fell through.
The golf course finally closed its doors at the end of September due to retirement of its owners.
Rick Bird, owner, told Blackmore Vale magazine tha the Somerset venue will revert to farmland because there was no interest from anyone looking to buy a golf course “much to the regret of the membership of the club”.
