Terrace makeover for The George

The George at Nunney has created a stunning new terrace along the Nunney Brook, overlooking Nunney Castle.

Atmospheric lighting means that the terrace can be used in the evenings too.
The newly landscaped area includes elegant raised plant beds that separate the country inn’s guests from its parking area.

The location of the terrace, next to the weir and with stunning views of Nunney Castle, make it the perfect spot for leisurely drinks and meals.

Atmospheric lighting is provided to ensure that the terrace can be used on balmy summer nights.

New furniture and light-coloured gravel complete the new look. Diners can enjoy drinks as well as lunch, dinner and light bites on the new terrace.

Slum Clearance Act
In the 1930s a small number of cottages were demolished in Church Street under the Slum Clearance Act.
A terrace of cottages that once stood on the site of The George’s front car park were demolished under the slum clearance act in 1937.

The George at Nunney‘s walled garden at the rear of the property was recently included in a list of the 26 best pub gardens in Somerset on the popular Country Mummy website.

Live music and food in the walled garden are scheduled once again in the evening after Nunney Fayre closes on Saturday 1 August.

The George at Nunney will serve slow cooked BBQ rotisserie pulled beef served in bread rolls with horseradish or mustard, homemade BBQ burgers and local butcher BBQ hot dogs as well as super chilled lager, cider and local beers.
