A tree planting ceremony was held this summer to honour Owen Hillier and Fred Lestrange.

Two trees have been planted to mark the remarkable years of service to the village and wider community by Owen Hillier and Fred Lestrange.

tree planting ceremonyAngela Yeoman and Catharine Taylor (formerly Goldsmith) took part in the well-attended ceremony in the Quarry Gardens.

The contributions of the two men (and their wives) were highlighted in speeches before trees were planted in two locations. Bubbly and nibbles were served afterwards.

  • Parish of Postlebury
  • Nunney Women’s Institute
  • Nunney Community Association
  • Nunney Flower Show
  • Nunney Village Hall
  • Nunney Parish Council
  • Nunney Players

1505642_10152452254972363_3822560189051187434_nThe proposal for this tree planting came from Mrs Yeoman. Catharine Taylor was Chairman of Nunney Parish Council for a number of years before moving to America and marrying Gail Taylor.

She has returned to Nunney for a blessing of marriage and to introduce her husband to her many friends in the village.

The trees were provided, planted and will be maintained by the Nunney Flower Show Committee.
