Critch Hill road closure

The road from Nunney into Frome will be closed at Critch Hill School for at least one week from Monday 7 April.

Critch Hill FromeSomerset County Council has authorised a road closure at Critch Hill from outside Critchill School, north eastwards for a distance of 130 metres.

This will enable Bristol Water Plc to carry out water main renovation work in this road.

The road closure becomes effective on Monday 7 April 2014, with works are expected to last for 1 week – possibly 2 weeks.

While the closure is in operation an alternative route will be signed as detailed below.

Alternative route

  1. From the southern end of the closure proceed in a south westerly direction along Critch Hill, Frome Road and Church Street to the junction with Castle Hill.
  2. Turn right and proceed in a north westerly direction along Castle Hill and Castle Hill to Westdown Farm Lane to the junction with Nunney Road.
  3. Turn right and proceed in north easterly and north westerly directions along Nunney Road to the junction with Old Wells Road.
  4. Turn right and proceed in north easterly and south easterly directions along Old Wells Road and Egford Hill to the junction with Oakfield Road.
  5. Turn right and proceed in a southerly direction along Oakfield Road to the junction with Critch Hill.
  6. Turn right and proceed in a south westerly direction along Critch Hill to the northern end of the closure, and vice versa.
