Film Night: The Mountain Between Us

Somerset Moviola and the Nunney Village Hall Committee present The Mountain Between Us, on Friday 9 March at Nunney Village Hall.

The Mountain Between Us

The Mountain Between Us is a 2017 American romance survival drama film, directed by Hany Abu-Assad and written by Chris Weitz and J. Mills Goodloe, based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Charles Martin.

It stars Idris Elba and Kate Winslet as a surgeon and a journalist, respectively, who survive a plane crash, with a dog, and are stranded in High Uintas Wilderness with injuries and harsh weather conditions.

When they realize help is not coming, they embark on a perilous journey across hundreds of miles of wilderness, pushing one another to endure and discovering strength they never knew possible.

The Mountain Between Us has a 12A rating. Films classified 12A contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12.

No one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. Adults planning to take a child under 12 to view a 12A film should consider whether the film is suitable for that child.

The Mountain Between Us is shown at Nunney Village Hall on Friday 9 March at 7.30pm. Door open at 7.00pm. Seats cannot be reserved, so please come early.

Tickets cost £5 in advance at the SPAR shop in Nunney or £6 on the door. Advance booking is highly recommended (the film nights frequently sell out in advance!).

A licensed bar and ice creams will be available. The bar opens at 7pm. The film programme begins at 7.30pm.
