Good Web Guide interviews Visit Nunney

The highly respected Good Web Guide features an interview with Visit Nunney in the run up to its Website of the Year awards.

Good Web GuideThe Good Web Guide is the online guide to the best sites on the internet. The website contains thousands of website reviews, based on the sites’ design and usability rather than on the quality of its products or services. The Good Web Guide is independent and members pay to access the website reviews.

Visit Nunney founder and web editor Adrie van der Luijt was interviewed because this website has been nominated for the Good Web Guide Website of the Year awards in two categories, Best of British and Travel.

The Good Web Guide responded on social media website Twitter earlier to Visit Nunney’s nomination by saying they were “impressed” and adding “if every town had a website like this, that would be something”.

The Good Web Guide Awards celebrate innovation and online excellence. Since their inception in 2009, the Awards have been supported by celebrity entrepreneurs including Sarah Beeny, Jamie Murray-Wells, Julie Meyer, Alison Cork and ex-Dragon Doug Richard.

The award entries are judged by the panel of independent industry experts. They look for sites that are original and engage visitors from the offset, whether it’s through a unique concept or a user experience that is second to none. The criteria used for judging entries includes design, navigation and structure, content, interactivity, ease of use and social media strategy.

visit-nunney-2014According to the Good Web Guide: “The shortlisted sites will be the ones you want to bookmark, sign up for newsletters, email the site to a friend, or mention it on your social media profile.”

“Well-designed websites aren’t just the preserve of well-funded enterprises and The Good Web Guide wants to showcase the very best, whether it’s self-funded site or venture capital backed. We are on a crusade to get websites to raise the bar, when it comes to both design and usability and with these Awards, we aim to recognise those sites that do it well.”

The website’s Shine the Spotlight feature highlights entries for the 2014 awards. Visit Nunney founder and web editor Adrie van der Luijt discusses the challenges of running a village website, his own background in digital media and the future of Visit Nunney in the interview.
