Visit Nunney exhibitions

Three of Visit Nunney’s popular exhibitions on local heritage are now available online.

Since 2011 we have researched, produced and sponsored four exhibitions. The first of these was Rob Walker and Nunney – The Racing Years, about the most successful private Formula One team owner in racing history who was also our local Lord of the Manor. In the Fifties and Sixties Sir Stirling Moss and Hollywood legend Ginger Rogers visited Nunney as friends of Rob Walker.

Well-known locals like Dorothy Wilcox, Owen Hillier and Fred Lestrange tell their personal stories of the war years, when our community magnificently rose to the challenge in its response to very real peril.

Unique archive material and photos tell the story of the Nunney Home Guard, the Air Raid Patrols, the hospital at Nunney Court, the Invasion Committee and the Carnival of 1943.
