Nunney Parish Council is asking village residents for feedback on plans to introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout the village.
In January 2020 the Parish Council decided to wait for the outcome of the planning application by David Wilson Homes to build 83 houses at Green Pits Lane in Nunney.
This application was approved by Mendip District Council’s Planning Board in July. Under the terms of the planning approval, Nunney Parish Council will get £20,000 to spend on traffic in the village.
Following a meeting with Traffic Management at Somerset County Council, Nunney Parish Council is now looking at what has changed in the village over the last 3 years.
The Parish Council is asking Nunney residents for their input on where the traffic calming zone should start and end. Once it those views, the scheme will come to a Parish Council meeting to have any changes made and to be approved.
It will then be submitted to Somerset County Council for the Traffic Regulation order, this process takes somewhere between 12 to 18 months.
