Nunney Acoustic Cafe December 2014

Nunney Acoustic Café is moving to the second Sunday of the month, so the next one is on Sunday 8 February.

Sam Eason

Sam Eason

Featured artist Sam Eason is a familiar face at Nunney Acoustic Café. The ginger-bearded singer/songwriter recorded a EP called Leave The Dark Low. It was recorded in St Thomas A Becket church in Pucklechurch, Bristol… in less than an hour! It’s one vocal, one guitar, pretty much one take all the way through.

Learning lessons from the masters like Dylan, Taylor and Jedward, Sam likes to keep his songwriting simple and to the point; If you’re looking for fractured rhythms and 15/4 time signatures, steer clear. If, however, your heart is in need of some buttering by a velvet spatula of melodies and tenderness, Sam may just be your man.

A relative late-comer to the troubadour profession, Sam has gone from a handful of open mic appearances during ’07-’10, to having a pretty eventful time from 2011 onwards, with a headline at The Fleece plus support slots with David McAlmont, Sandi Thom and James Vincent McMorrow.

The Sam Eason Live Experience™ will generally find Sam playing solo with a looping pedal to add layers to his sound, with occasional appearances by his songbird wife to bring the yin to his vocal yang.

There’s more on Sam’s own website and his Facebook page.

Of course we’ll have plenty of talent at the open mic, stacks of scrummy food and cake, papers, a well-stocked bar and lots of stuff to do for the little ones as per usual.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday 8 February. Doors at 2pm. Entry is £4 for adults, free for under-16s and performers.
