Nunney Fayre: info for residents

On Saturday 3 August, Nunney will celebrate 44 years since the first (modern) street fayre.

Nunney Street Fayre

Nunney Community Association has distributed the following information to Nunney residents:

The Fayre raises thousands of pounds each year, with the money benefiting projects for the community, such as the Village Hall, Nunney First School, Nunney Players, the Flower Show, Visit Nunney and other community groups.

Road closures

The following roads will be closed to ALL vehicles on Saturday 3 August 6am – 6.30pm:

Frome Road
Donkey Lane
Church Street
Market Square
High Street
Dallimore Mead
Castle Street
Castle Hill
Horn Street – lower end

Please remember not to book any deliveries to these streets during this time, and ensure that any visitors you might expect (especially carers) are notified in advance of these closures.

If you have to use your vehicle between 6am-6.30pm make sure it is parked outside all the closed roads by 8pm on Friday evening.

If you usually park your vehicle in the streets where the stalls will be (these will be indicated by blue stall markings painted on the road during the preceding week), please also ensure your vehicle is parked elsewhere by 8pm on Friday 2 August.

Old Quarry Gardens car park will be closed to village parking. None of the other car parks will be open on Friday evening. Residents are advised to park outside the fayre area.

There will be 3 fields assigned for visitors’ parking. There is no entrance fee to the fayre, but each visiting car is charged £5 to park for the day.

The income from parking goes towards the general running costs of the fayre, including facilities and insurance.

Blue-badge disabled parking is available at the Village Hall.

Your co-operation and understanding are very much appreciated. If you have any queries about any aspect of the fayre organisation, please email nunneyfayre@gmail.com.
