Plants needed for Open Gardens Day

Are you a plant enthusiast? The Nunney & District Flower Show Committee would love to have more plants to sell on Open Gardens Day.

Nunney Open Gardens Day

Ann Hutchings and Kate Troughton, committee members, and Jeff Smith Chairman of Nunney Flower Show Committee.

The committee recently discussed how to improve the plant stall in the Market Place on Open Gardens Day.

At present the plants offered for sale are from the efforts of about half a dozen people who pot up seedlings and split perennials.

The problem is that the plants tend to be the same ones every year, as the offerings are from the same gardens.

If you are a keen gardener, would you be prepared to pot on any of your plants when you are splitting them. Perhaps you could even sow a few seeds of colourful annuals/perennials which could be potted on and be in full bloom on the sale table?

The committee is hoping for a few more unusual plants too.

If you can help the plant stall look more inviting to visitors so they want to buy more plants, it would be wonderful.

Any donations can either be brought to the Market Place between 10am and 10.30am on the morning of Open Gardens Day, which this year is Sunday 28 June, or a Committee Member would be happy to collect from you before the day.

If you would like the committee to collect, please contact Ann Hutchings on 01373 836 049 who will be happy to arrange this.
