Barratt Homes has told Nunney Parish Council that it plans to apply for planning permission to build up to 100 new houses between Glebelands and the Nunney Catch Transport Café in Nunney.

The development would include a children’s playground and 30% social housing with priority for people with a clear link to Nunney, for example because their parents or children already live here.

The well-attended Barratt Homes exhibition on Wednesday was part of a consultation undertaken by the property developer to hear the local community’s views.

The firm promises that any feedback received will be used to help inform its proposals. In fact, there were already marked differences between the plans presented to Nunney Parish Council and what was on display to the general public this week. The plans no longer include 1 and 5-bedroom housing, for example.
