Somerset Open Studios

An opportunity to meet some of Somerset’s finest artists working in their studios.

saw_logo_79Over 200 venues with around 400 participating artists across Somerset will be opening their doors to the general public in this year’s event (20 September – 5 October 2014).

The full list of participant artists and venues can be downloaded from the Somerset Open Studios website and is available at The George at Nunney.

This popular Somerset Art Works Open Studios event will be with us again this autumn from 20 September – 5 October 2014. Somerset Art Weeks has alternated its focus between Open Studios and Festival year since 2008. The annual, countywide visual arts event this year will take the form of ‘Open Studios’, allowing the visitor the unique opportunity to interact with the artists in their workshops and studios – their own creative settings.

“You get to have a nose into the cluttered chaos of their creative studios,” says SAW’s blogger Davina Jelley.

SAW patron Kevin McCloud

“Somerset Art Weeks is a much-loved and thriving annual event and I’m proud to support it. It plays an invaluable role in identifying and celebrating a huge variety of creative activities and projects in this county, finding emerging artists and raising awareness of them. I urge you to go out and enjoy this glorious week of cultural exploration,” according to Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud, SAW’s Patron.

During Open Studios 2012 SAW recorded more than 50,000 visitors to the Somerset venues with one visitor describing the event as “friendly, informative with a very high standard of work”.
