Tea and cake party for the elderly

The George at Nunney hosts a free tea and cake afternoon for the elderly in the village and surrounding area, on Thursday 21 September at 3pm.

Gordon Hedges, owner of The George, said: “Hopefully, it’s a opportunity for people to get out of the house, sit by a nice warm fire at The George, and chat with others.”

“If you know anyone elderly in the village or surrounding area who would appreciate some time out, company and delicious cake let them know! We look forward to welcoming them!”

“We will provide tea, and a selection of cakes, and of course there would be no charge.”

The George at NunneyMany people who would enjoy coming to The George for these events are not on the internet, however, so your help is needed. If you know an elderly person who would enjoy an afternoon out of the house, please mention it to them.

If necessary, you could give them a lift to The George, or help them to get here. The George has confirmed that carers will also be welcome for free tea and cake.

“We would very much appreciate your help with this, as we feel it would be a great way to show the elderly people in Nunney that we do care,” Gordon added.
