Lady Karen Watson

Lady Karên Watson creates wonderful bronzes, ceramics and mosaics in her workshop in Nunney, set in a garden so stunning that it features in magazines.

Lady Karen WatsonKarên Watson grew up in Frankfurt am Main. She studied Fine Arts, Lithography and Coldneedle Etching at the renowned Art Akademie in Düsseldorf (Staatliche Kunstakademie) and had work experience with the leading German ceramic artist Beate Kuhn.

​Karên lives in Richmond and Nunney with her husband, the Lib Dem Peer and former broadcaster Alan Watson – Lord Watson of Richmond. Around her studio in Nunney she has created a very sculptural topiary garden.

The magazine English Garden featured Lady Watson’s garden in December 2008, followed by Gardens Illustrated (BBC Magazine) in December 2011. At the invitation of the National Garden Scheme she has opened her garden to the public for charity (The Yellow Book) in the past.

Lady Watson’s garden will be open to the public on Nunney Open Gardens Day. On Sunday 29 June from 11am to 5pm about 20 gardens will be open in all shapes and sizes.

“Movement and energy is most important to me and I think that shows in my work,” she says.
