Although Wessex Water provides sewerage service in Nunney, Bristol Water is responsible for the Nunney water supply.
Bristol Water’s supply area is divided into 27 separate areas called Water Supply Zones. Water in the each zone comes from the same source or sources.
Samples are collected daily from treatment works and customer properties in each zone. The results of tests completed on these samples are used to demonstrate the quality of the water supplied.
The number of samples Bristol Water collects from treatment works and from zones is specified in the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000. The results of these samples are provided to the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) who audit to ensure compliance with the regulations.
