Zumba Fitness and Zumba GOLD
Susie Lee and Kiera King teach Zumba Fitness and Zumba GOLD in Nunney and Wanstrow.
Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. Zumba’s choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, martial arts, and some Bollywood and belly dance moves. Squats and lunges are also included.
Approximately 14 million people take weekly Zumba classes in over 140,000 locations across more than 150 countries.
The classes are suitable for active older participants and absolute beginners. They are designed to help them build strength, improve motion and posture, and socialise. Susie Lee’s Zumba GOLD classes at Nunney Village Hall are very popular and attract 10-14 people every week.
The cost for the Zumba GOLD Class is £4.50 for 45 minutes. You can buy a card of 5 for £20 or 10 for £40. This card can be used whenever you come to a class. It is only signed if you actually attend, so if you miss a week it doesn’t matter. Booking is preferred, but not essential.
Here’s a video of a Zumba Gold class to show you what it’s like. Please note that this purely for illustration and does not show one of Susie Lee’s classes.
Zumba Fitness classes, run by Kiera King on Tuesday evenings 7.30-8.30pm at Wanstrow village hall, are regular Zumba classes which are faster but very enjoyable. The classes attract 14-18 people every week. The classes are suitable for all, with multi-level teaching.
Zumba Fitness sessions are typically about an hour long and burn between 500 and 1,000 calories. Each class costs £5, but you can buy a card of 5 for £23.50 or 10 for £45.00.
Here is another video to show you what a Zumba Fitness class looks like. Again, this is strictly for illustration purposes and does not show one of Susie Lee’s classes.
About Susie Lee
Susie Lee has been a Zumba instructor for over 2 years now and really enjoys it. She explains, “It is all about having fun and enjoying yourself while exercising at the same time. As the saying goes: ditch the workout, join the party!”
Susie runs her classes throughout the summer and other holidays if enough people show up (which is usually the case). If she’s away, there will always be cover for her classes.
If you’re thinking of giving her Zumba classes a try, please bring water to drink and a towel if you wish. Clothes should be light and loose so that you can move around in them easily. Trainers or pumps of some sort should always be worn, no bare feet. “But most of all a big smile and lots of fun..,” Susie concludes.
